Scallion Steamed Buns

Ingredients

1 pack of steamed bun premix (1 tbsp set aside for rolling)

1 green onion diced
1/4 tsp salt
pinch of sugar
1.5 tbsp of sesame oil

Prepare a steamer with boiled water.

1. Prepare the dough as according to the premix instruction.
2. Combine green onion, salt, sugar, and sesame oil. Set aside.
3. Divide the dough into 12 even pieces.
4. Roll out each piece into a long strip.
5. Use a knife a slit lines, leaving one side attached and holding all the strips of dough.
6. Glaze the dough with the sesame oil mix.
7. Curl and tuck in a figure eight style and use a paper muffin cup as the base (I used mini paper cups, which is about 3 inches when flatten out)
8. Repeat for the rest of the dough
9. Steam the buns on high heat for 12 to 13 minutes.

Verdict: The premix was too salty but it gave good textures. The premix is actually meant for savory meat buns. Figures.
